Caspian Sea may be destroyed in case continuous oil extraction in near-Caspian region

In case of continuous oil extraction in near-Caspian region, the Caspian Sea will be destroyed. The chairman of ecological society Tabigat, Mels Eleusizov, informed in the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Kazakhstan, the agency reports.

Astana. June 5. Kazakhstan Today - In case of continuous oil extraction in near-Caspian region, the Caspian Sea will be destroyed. The chairman of Ecological Union Tabigat, Mels Yeleusizov, informed in the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Kazakhstan, the agency reports.

"The Caspian Sea is our global ecological problem. Large number of seals dies every year. We have already carried out examination and concluded that oil extraction should be stopped, otherwise we will destroy the Caspian Sea," M. Eleusizov informed.

"The Aral problem is of global character as well. The Aral salt has been found near Tian-Shan mountains, which contributes to even more melting of glaciers."
