Central Asia countries can use Kazakhstan experience of reforming of the Environmental Protection Legislation - OECD

The Central Asian countries can use of the Kazakhstan experience in reforming the Environmental Protection Legislation. The chairman of Department of Environmental Protection and Globalization Division of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Brendan Gillespie, said at the press conference of the annual meeting of the special working group on realization of the plan of actions on the environmental protection for the East European countries, Caucasus and Central Asia, the agency reports.

Astana. October 24. Kazakhstan Today - The Central Asian countries can use of the Kazakhstan experience in reforming the Environmental Protection Legislation. The chairman of Department of Environmental Protection and Globalization Division of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Brendan Gillespie, said at the press conference of the annual meeting of the special working group on realization of the plan of actions on the environmental protection for the East European countries, Caucasus and Central Asia, the agency reports.

The special working group realizes a number of programs in Kazakhstan. "For example, with counterparts from Norway we support projects on reforming of ecological inspection ... We also assist the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Kazakhstan in development of approaches to realization of monitoring of activity of the enterprises of industrial production ... we assist reforming of the system for issuing permits," B. Gillespi specified.

Kazakhstan was elected to the bureau of the special working group for four-year-old term in February, 2008. The annual meeting of the special working group for the first time was held in the Republic. The representatives from more than 20 countries, chairmen of the international ecological organizations, experts - organizers of process Environment for Europe are taking part in the event.
