Court turned down petition to remit HIV infection case for further examination

Shymkent. January 26. Kazakhstan Today - Al-Farabi regional court turned down the petition of the lawyers to remit the HIV infection case for further examination, the lawyer for the defendant Musatay Bektasov informed the agency.

According to M. Bektasov, the lawyers for the defendant can renew the petition for remitting the case for further investigation. "We received the documents that the Cuban doctors worked in the South Kazakhstan oblast and their opinion essentially differ from the opinion given by the criminal prosecution bodies," the lawyer informed.

As it was informed earlier, on January 19, the court procedure on the case of HIV infection of the South Kazakhstan children began its work. 21 accused on the case of HIV infection of children have been arrested, 18 of whom are medical workers.

The former chief of the department of public health services Nursulu Tasmagambetova, her ex- assistant Rahima Kuandykova, the ex-chief of the South-Kazakhstan department of the Committee for the control of medical services Ryskulbek Bayharashev and his ex-assistant Orynbasary Kashkaliyuly have been accused of criminal negligence. The former head physician of the regional children's hospital Tashmukan Taybekov and his assistant Gulzhan Kylyshbekova, the former head physician of the city children's hospital Bakhtykul Baymakhanova and her assistant Nagima Tlenchina face charges.

The accusation was brought on four articles - bribe taking, swindle, plunder, negligence.
