Cyprus and Malta changed to euro

Cyprus and Malta officially changed to the European currency since the 1st of January 2008, the agency reports referring to AFP information agency.

Almaty. January 9. Kazakhstan Today - Cyprus and Malta officially changed to the European currency since the 1st of January 2008, the agency reports referring to AFP information agency.

According to AFP information agency, Cyprus and Malta were allowed to introduce euro since January 1, 2008 by the decision of the Ministers of Finance of the European Union.

According to the arrangement, 1 euro will cost 0.585274 Cyrus pounds and 0.4293 Malta liras.

Cyprus and Malta joined European Union along with Czechia, Hungary, Poland, Slovenia, Slovakia, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia.

As of January 1, 2008 15 EU member countries changed to euro out of 27 states.
