Development mass media self-regulation in Central Asia to discuss in Dushanbe

The ninth Central Asian conference of mass media - Development self-regulation of mass media in Central Asia: on the way to independent and responsible mass media will be held on November 1-2 in Dushanbe, the agency reports.

Dushanbe. October 31. Kazakhstan Today - The ninth Central Asian conference of mass media - Development self-regulation of mass media in Central Asia: on the way to independent and responsible mass media will be held on November 1-2 in Dushanbe, the agency reports.

According to the OSCE Center, the questions, connected with advantages of self-regulation of mass media, in particular, establishment of mechanisms of self-regulation will be discussed at the conference: balance between rights and responsibility of mass media and development of mechanisms of self-regulation of mass media in the Central Asian countries.

The reports of the representatives of international, public, and media organizations of the Central Asian countries, the Ukraine, Russia on experience of introduction of self-regulation, as well as the challenges of acceptance of the common ethical standards in OSCE will be presented.

The chairman of the National association of independent mass media of Tajikistan Nuriddin Karshibayev will make a report at the conference and inform the participants of the meeting on the situation in Tajikistan with acceptance of the code of ethics and prospects of self-regulation in the Republic at conference.
