E-Mass Media to be under control, Culture Minister

Almaty. April 20. Kazakhstan Today – The Minister of Culture and Information Yermukhamet Yertysbayev considers it necessary to establish control over electronic mass media in Kazakhstan, the agency correspondent reports.

"Kazakhstan locating between Russia, China and the Muslim world, should especially, in a good sense of this word, supervise electronic mass media," Y. Yertysbayev stated today answering journalists questions during the Vth Eurasian media forum.

"Almost 83 foreign TV channels broadcast on the territory of Kazakhstan". "Therefore, my task is to protect the state information policy, in particular, clause 20 of Kazakhstan Constitution that guarantees freedom of speech and creativity to protect the interests of all journalists," the head of the department summed up.
