EU to allocate resources for quality assurance system in higher education

Astana. November 23. Kazakhstan Today - The EU allocates the grant for realization of the project on development and monitoring of system quality assurance in higher education in Kazakhstan. Education and Science Minister of Kazakhstan Byrganym Aytimova said at the press conference in Astana, the agency reports.

"Following the results of the project realization Kazakhstan will receive recommendations of the leading world experts on such questions as improvement of quality of higher education and preparation of Universities for international accreditation," B. Aytimova explained. "The project is completely financed by the EU under TACIS program, the budget made nearly $650 thousand," the Minister specified.

As a whole, according to the EU Ambassador - the head of representation of EU commission in Kazakhstan Adrian Van Der Meer, since 1995 in Kazakhstan together with EU 22 educational projects which general budget has made 8.8 million euro have been realized. "Next year we are planning to invest nearly 1 million euro in this sphere," A. Van Der Meer informed.
