Euro-2 standard to be introduced in Kazakhstan on July 15

Astana. July 15. Kazakhstan Today - International technical and ecological standard Euro-2 will be introduced in Kazakhstan on July 15th, 2009, the agency reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Kazakhstan.

"Technical regulations concerning requirements to emissions of harmful (polluting) substances of the vehicles produced in the territory of Kazakhstan have been approved by the government's order of Kazakhstan of December 29th, 2007 №1372 to introduce in Kazakhstan the international technical and ecological Euro standard.

According to the Ministry of Transport and Communications, import to Kazakhstan and manufacture of automobiles in its territory, which do not correspond to Euro standards, will be limited with introduction of the Euro standard and the requirements to quality of fuel will be increased. It will create conditions for renewal of the existing park of motor vehicles and will also allow solving the environmental problems (especially in cities) and the questions of increase of the level of road safety.

Euro-2 standard has also been introduced in Russia, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan.
