Shymkent. March 16. Kazakhstan Today - Ex-director of the department of public health services of the South Kazakhstan oblast Nursulu Tasmagambetova and ex-chairman of the committee for control over medical services Ryskulbek Bayharashev hired one more lawyer, the agency reports.
A new lawyer Aygul Ibragimova was presented to court at the morning judicial session on mass HIV infection of children on Thursday. She stated that she would represent the interests of defendants N. Tasmagambetova and R. Bayharashev. To the question of the judge Ziydinhan Pirniyaz, whether A. Ibragimova will conduct independent defence or will only help already being conducted defence of the defendants by the lawyer Sapar Amirtayev, the lawyer responded that she would conduct defence in parallel."
N. Tasmagambetova and R. Bayharashev are spouses. Both of them are accused of mass HIV infection of children under clause "negligence". The reasons of hiring the second lawyer were not commented, however, the experts believe that it was caused by increase of frequency of judicial sessions. Now the court sits four days a week, conducting morning and evening sessions.
As it was informed earlier, 96 children and 13 mothers have been HIV infected in the hospitals in the South Kazakhstan oblast. The judicial process on mass HIV infection case began its work on January 19. 18 physicians out of 21 people are in the dock.

Oil spill detected in Caspian Sea
According to space monitoring data, received from Sentinel-1A (02:43 UTC), an oil spill was detected on March 30 in the area of Kashagan field in the Caspian Sea. The spill area is about 7 square kilometers. The spill was drifting to the north of the Caspian Sea," the publication reads.
If these facts are confirmed by Atyrau region’s Ecology Department, unscheduled inspection will be conducted at the North Caspian Operating Company. The results will be reported additionally," the Ecology Committee says.
