Experts named KazakhstanИs regions with the highest salaries

A slight growth in the salary is observed in Mangystau region.
Following the 1st quarter of 2018, the average salary of Kazakhstan citizens was 152.4 thousand tenge, that is by 8.7% higher that in the same period of the previous year, Energyprom.kz reports.

Taking into account the inflation, the purchasing power of salaries increased by 2% year-to-year. It should be noted that the increase in purchasing power has been observed for the first time since the 1st quarter of 2015.

The largest increase in money was observed in Mangystau region by +14% over the year up to 282 thousand tenge, that is the highest average salary throughout the Republic of Kazakhstan. Atyrau region (279.9 thousand tenge, +9.2% over the year), Astana (223.5 thousand tenge, +9.9% over the year) and Almaty (187.8 thousand tenge, +4.4% over the year) are also among leaders in the salary," says the report.


The highest salaries are gained by employees of the financial and insurance spheres (299 thousand tenge following the 1st quarter, that is by 2.8% higher than a year before), as well as the employees who do scientific and technological activities (255.1 thousand tenge, +7.2% over the year).

In the manufacturing sector, the average salary of employees reached 223.3 thousand tenge (+11% over the year), and employees of the mining sphere earn 366.2 thousand tenge a month, that is by 13% higher than a year ago.

The largest increase of salaries was observed in administrative and support services (by 29.9% over a year up to 178.7 thousand tenge) and construction (by 17.7% up to 201.4 thousand tenge)," according to the survey.


Following 2017, the average salary of the country equaled 149.7 thousand tenge (+5% over the year) of 459 US dollars (+10% over the year).

And, taking into account the inflation, the purchasing power of salaries decreased by 2.1% year-to-year.
