First launch of new rocket Angara to take place in 2011

The first launch of the new rocket Angara will take place in 2011, the agency reports referring to the press service of Hrunichev State Research and Production Space Center.

Moscow. April 15. Kazakhstan Today - The first launch of the new rocket Angara will take place in 2011, the agency reports referring to the press service of Hrunichev State Research and Production Space Center.

According to the press service, the General Director of Hrunichev Space Center Vladimir Nesterov said in the interview to the Russian newspaper: "We should begin flying tests in 2010. According to the plans, Angara of light model will be launched in the beginning of 2011 and the booster rocket of heavy model Angara-5 will be launched in the end of 2011.

The agreement provides creation of starting and technical complexes of the booster rocket Angara at the cosmodrome Baikonur. Realization of the project Bayterek will allow using the potential of the booster rocket Angara more effectively.

By its technical characteristics the booster rocket Angara is an ecologically safe rocket. The use of the modified versions of the booster rocket Angara will allow launching satellites of wide range into the space orbit: from light up to heavy - with the smaller cost of launch.

The works on preparation of the design documentation on construction of the starting complex Bayterek has come to the end at the cosmodrome Baikonur. The completion of construction of the project Bayterek and preparation of Angar are scheduled for 2010 - 2011.
