First lethal case of influenza A (H1N1) registered in Russia

Almaty. September 21. Kazakhstan Today - The lethal first case from the influenza A (H1N1) has been registered in Russia. Director of Ivanovsky Institute of Virology, the academician of the Russian Academy Medical Sciences, Dmitry Lvov, informed, the agency reports citing television channel Vesti.

"A medical worker, a woman who had arrived from Bulgaria, was taken to the medical institution where she worked. Within two weeks, the patient's condition worsened and she was transferred to one of the Moscow hospitals.

According to the official statistics, 381 cases of the influenza A (H1N1) have been registered in Russia. According to World Health Organization (WHO), almost 300 thousand cases of the infection of the influenza have been registered all over the world. There have been more than 4 thousand lethal cases.

17 cases of the disease of the influenza A (H1N1) have been registered in Kazakhstan.
