Four suspects in mine accident arrested

Karaganda. October 3. Kazakhstan Today - Office of Public Prosecutor of Karaganda oblast arrested four people suspected of infringement of the legislation which entailed in mine explosion, the press secretary of the regional Office of Public Prosecutor Nurbek Kuzbakov informed the agency.

Following the results of the materials of the criminal case and interrogation of the suspected the decision on authorization of their arrest according to 142 item of the criminally-remedial code of Kazakhstan, that is for the term of about ten days, was accepted, N. Kuzbakov informed. Thus, the charge should be brought not later than ten days from the moment of detention.

As it was informed earlier, on September, 29, for infringement of the rules of conducting of mining works and labor safety the mechanic of the tunnel site works Leonid Kovalev, the main mechanic of mine Ivan Sysuyev, the chief engineer of the mine Vasily Tonkih were detained. The Office of Public Prosecutor also detained the main power engineering specialist Sergey Borgulya.

As it was informed earlier, on September, 20th, right after mine explosion that caused 41 deaths, criminal cases on 245 item part 2 were brought (infringement of safety rules in mining works) and item 152 part 2 (infringement of rules of labor safety) of the Criminal code of the Republic. According to the Office of Public Prosecutor, the accident occurred as a result of the absence of control over technical condition and rough infringements of safety precaution regulations.
