An installation of cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin in a spacesuit sitting on the bench appeared in the city of Almaty. The bronze composition is located on Gagarin Ave., south of Abai Ave., an official website of the city's Mayor's Office informs.
Earlier during inspecting the paces of the city's housing construction, Mayor Baurzhan Baibek spotted the same installation in the yard of one of the new residential complexes and instructed to make a more precisely draft and install it on Gagarin Avenue.
The artwork not only attracts lovers of selfies but also is a tribute to the past because it is in Kazakhstan Yuri Gagarin made the first flight into outer space in the history of humankind. The project's authors are young students from Zhurgenov Kazakh Academy of Arts Azamat Kabyl and Akylbek Shaken. It was implemented with the support of the BI Group construction company.
On our opinion, the artwork is a perfect fit with the city's landscape, as well as brightens up the alley. I hope the number of such objects will increase as they bring its own flavor. It is also a self-realization possibility for young artists," said Azamat Kabyl.
Note, a statue of the lead singer of the Kino Victor Tsoi was erected on Tulebayev Street, which is a popular spot among citizens and guests of Almaty.
