GNFE improved methods for forecasting earthquakes
Almaty. April 6. Kazakhstan Today - The Global Network for the Forecasting of Earthquakes (GNFE) improved forecasting methods. GNFE President, Doctor of Geological-Mineralogical Sciences, Vice President of the International Academy of Sciences (Austria), Professor Elchin Halilov, the agency informed.
There will be three years on April 4, 2010 since introduction of the first station of forecasting of earthquakes ATROPTENA-AZ1. Commissioning of the fourth station ATROPATENA-AZ2 will take place in Baku and will be dated to the third anniversary of the first station of the Global Network for the Forecasting of Earthquakes.

Oil spill detected in Caspian Sea
According to space monitoring data, received from Sentinel-1A (02:43 UTC), an oil spill was detected on March 30 in the area of Kashagan field in the Caspian Sea. The spill area is about 7 square kilometers. The spill was drifting to the north of the Caspian Sea," the publication reads.
If these facts are confirmed by Atyrau region’s Ecology Department, unscheduled inspection will be conducted at the North Caspian Operating Company. The results will be reported additionally," the Ecology Committee says.
