HIV children screening in South Kazakhstan cancelled

Shymkent. May 23. Kazakhstan Today - Carrying out of continuous HIV checkup of children in the medical establishments of the South-Kazakhstan oblast has been cancelled. Natalia Babina, the head physician of the regional AIDS center, informed at the session of the regional staff on struggle against HIV-infection, the agency reports.

"We were convinced that continuous screening is inefficient," she said.

N. Babina informed that now HIV infection analyses will be taken only from those children who are being treated in hospitals.
