Independent mass media to address President

The chairman of the International Fund for the Protection of Freedom of Speech Adil Soz, Tamara Kaleeva, before the beginning of the round table concerning reforming of Mass Media Legislation said that independent mass media plan to address the President with the request to veto the amendments to the Law on Mass Media, the agency reports.

Kazakhstan Today - The chairman of the International Fund for the Protection of Freedom of Speech Adil Soz, Tamara Kaleeva, before the beginning of the round table concerning reforming of Mass Media Legislation said that independent mass media plan to address the President with the request to veto the amendments to the Law on Mass Media, the agency reports.

The public fund and the initiative group of chairmen of mass media and NGO's periodicals suggest: "to decriminalize libel and insults, to reestablish the term of claim limitation on honor and dignity cases until one year, and to increase validity of the certificate of registration from 3 till 12 months."
