Investigation of fact of explosion in Abay mine stopped
Karaganda. April 9. Kazakhstan Today - The investigation-operative group of the State Office of Public Prosecutor of Kazakhstan stopped the work on the criminal case on April, 3rd on the fact of explosion in the Abay mine of JSC Company Arcelor Mittal Temirtau occurred on January, 11th, 2008, the press service of prosecutor's office of the Karaganda region informed the agency.
According to the press service, the work on the criminal case has been stopped on the basis of item 7, part 1, article 50 (suspension of criminal case in case of force majeure temporarily preventing further carrying out of criminal case) of the Criminal Judicial Code of Kazakhstan.

Oil spill detected in Caspian Sea
According to space monitoring data, received from Sentinel-1A (02:43 UTC), an oil spill was detected on March 30 in the area of Kashagan field in the Caspian Sea. The spill area is about 7 square kilometers. The spill was drifting to the north of the Caspian Sea," the publication reads.
If these facts are confirmed by Atyrau region’s Ecology Department, unscheduled inspection will be conducted at the North Caspian Operating Company. The results will be reported additionally," the Ecology Committee says.
