K. Mami to examine validity of private criminal HIV infection court procedure

Astana. February 1. Kazakhstan Today - The Chairman of the Supreme court Kayrat Mami charged the Chairman of the South Kazakhstan regional court to examine the validity of the private criminal HIV infection court procedure, the Kazakh Supreme court press service informed.

"Taking into account that the criminal case has received big public resonance and numerous mass media statements expressing indignation and discontent in connection with the closed judicial session, the Chairman of the Supreme court of Kazakhstan instructed the Chairman of the South Kazakhstan regional court to examine validity of consideration the case in the private judicial session," the message widespread today says.

"According to the law, restriction of publicity of judicial session can apply to the cases when it concerns safety of victims or it discloses data of their private lives," the press service explained.

As it was informed earlier, court procedure on the criminal case of intra hospital HIV infection of the South Kazakhstan children is being conducted in private, by the decision of the Chairman, in Al-Farabi regional court of Shymkent. 21 accused on the case of HIV infection had been arrested.
