Kazakh Foreign Ministry denied presence of nuclear stuff

Astana. February 19. Kazakhstan Today - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan denied the information on the presence of nuclear stuff on the territory of the country, Tohtar Aubakirov, Majilisman, said at the Parliament session on February 15, in Astana, the agency reports.

"The information on the presence on the territory of the Republic Kazakhstan, in particular, on the former proving ground Azgir in Atyrau oblast, nuclear charges or nuclear installation does not correspond the reality," the MFA official representative Yerzhan Ashikbayev said today at the briefing.

The diplomat reminded that the Republic Kazakhstan that voluntary refused from the fourth by size nuclear arsenal, closed nuclear proving ground, and became one of the initiators of signing of the contract on creation in the Central Asia the zones free from nuclear weapons, firmly adheres to the principles of unacceptability of development, storage or use of nuclear weapons."
