Kazakh Labor Ministry forecasts an increasing demand for freelancers

The specialists note that flexible working arrangements are gradually becoming popular among Kazakh citizens.
It became known what specialties will be relevant at The Future of the Labour Market: New Possibilities International Forum.

Director of the Department of Employment and Labour Market Development of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population Zhenisbek Dulatov noted that flexible working arrangements are actively developing in our country.

I would like to say that the aging of the global population is occurring. Kazakhstan is not an exception. There will be a slight burden on the working force, on the young specialists working these days. Whereas people worked from morning to evening, and now more flexible working arrangements are developing, such as freelancing, working at home. They have flexible working arrangements, that is they can work 2 hours a day, on the weekends. It depends on the work volume. Flexible working arrangements will be more popular, than permanent jobs," said Zhenisbek Dulatov.

He also noted that Kazakhstan faces the great demand for reserve workforce.

They are women, the elderly, people with disabilities, those who enter the labor market most. Accordingly, we should create conditions so these people could realize their skills, vocational activities. Now Kazakhstan faces such challenges," said Dulatov.

He also noted what specialists do not need in the workforce.

In the future, routine works will be digitalized, and workforce no longer will be needed. A majority of such specialties as cashiers, bank accountants, lawyers are being automated. They will not be in demand as they are right now. Highly qualified, intellectual, for instance in culture, design professions, will be more in demand," said the Director of the Department.

Of note, during the Forum, Kazakh PM Bakytzhan Saginayev shared the data that over 140 billion workplaces will disappear until 2025 in the world.
