Kazakh Prime Minister resigned

Astana. January 8. Kazakhstan Today - The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Daniyal Akhmetov sent in his resignation, the source in the government informed the agency.

"The Prime Minister sent in his resignation," the source said.

D. Akhmetov was born in 1954. He graduated the Pavlodar Industrial Institute, the engineer-builder. He is a Doctor of Economics. Since 1992 D. Akhmetov headed Ekibastuz city administration and later Pavlodar regional administration. In 1995 he was appointed akim (mayor) of Pavlodar oblast. From 1997 up to 1999 - he was akim of the North-Kazakhstan oblast. Since October 1999 till November, 2001 he was the assistant and later the first assistant to the Prime Minister of the Republic Kazakhstan. He was akim of Pavlodar oblast since till June, 2003. Since June, 2003 he occupied the position of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan.
