Kazakhstan, China to create joint investment fund

Astana. June 19. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan and China, according to the arrangements reached by the leaders of two states in December, 2006, will create joint investment fund. The Chairman of the board of Fund of Steady Development Kazyna Kayrat Kelimbetov discussed the questions connected with formation of the institute with the financiers of the Peoples Republic of China during his visit to the country last week, the Kazakhstan MFA press service informed the agency.

K. Kelimbetov met the Chairmen of the State Bank of Development of China, Eximbank and Corporation CITIC in the Peoples Republic of China. The parties discussed the questions of signing of the intergovernmental agreement on creation of the fund in 2007 during the visit of the Chairman of the Peoples Republic of China Hu Jintao to Kazakhstan, directions of the fund activity and the opportunity of creation of joint commercial funds of direct investments, and allocation of credits for realization of large projects."

The representatives of the Chinese party confirmed their readiness for cooperation in the field of creation of commercial funds of direct investments, opening of credit lines for realization of large projects, including on concession basis.

"The parties agreed upon mutual visits of experts of two countries for detailed study of the issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of financing projects," the press service noted.
