Kazakhstan citizens to have four days off on Independence Day

In connection with celebrations of Independence Day of the Republic Kazakhstan citizens will have four days off, the agency reports.

Astana. December 13. Kazakhstan Today - In connection with celebrations of Independence Day of the Republic Kazakhstan citizens will have four days off, the agency reports.

The Day of Independence in Kazakhstan is a unique national holiday. According to the Kazakhstan legislation, Independence Day is celebrated on December 16 and it is a two-day holiday - December 16-17.

The norms of the law on Holidays in the Republic of Kazakhstan stipulates that the national holiday are the days off and at concurrence of a day off with holidays, a day off is the following working day after the holiday. Hence, this year Kazakhstan citizens will have days off on December 16, 17 and 18.

According to the law on Labor, the day off will be the day of celebration of Kurban ayt - on December 20.

As a result, this year within the period of December 17-23, working days are two days - December 19 (Wednesday) and 21 (Friday).

As it was informed earlier, the amendments were introduced to the law on Labor in December, 2005, according to which the first day of Kurban ayt celebrated according to Muslim calendar and on January 7 - orthodox Christmas are the days off.
