Kazakhstan donor service share to UN budget increased

Brussels. January 8. Kazakhstan Today - The size of Kazakhstan payments to the budget of the United Nations since 2007 will increase, the agency reports referring to the news service of the United Nations.

On the last day of the work of the 61st session taken place at the end of 2006, the General Assembly of the United Nations approved the scale of payments of the states to the budget of the United Nations for 2007 - 2009. After the discussions and negotiations the technique of distribution of expenditures of the organization remained unchanged.

In the basis of the calculation of the sum of payments the principle of solvency of the states is incorporated. Total national product (GNP) of the state for the period of six years and three years are considered. If the economy of the state develops successfully the size of its payments to the budget of the United Nations grows.

As a result, in the view of new GNP data the share of Russia will make 1.2 % of the regular budget to the United Nations. In 2006 the Russian Federation paid 1.1 %. The payment of Belarus grew slightly: from 0.018 % up to 0.020 %, and the Ukraine - from 0.039 % up to 0.045 %. The share of Kazakhstan increased from 0.025 % up to 0.029 %.

Armenia will pay 0.002 %, Azerbaijan - 0.005 %, Turkmenistan - 0.006 %, Uzbekistan - 0.008 %, Georgia - 0.003 % and Moldova, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan will pay minimal payment - 0.001 %.

The USA remains the main payer that is 22 % of the budget of the organization. The share of Japan was reduced up to 3 %. In the nearest three years it will pay 16.6 % of the main expenditures of the United Nations.
