Kazakhstan left six CIS countries behind in the Corruption Perceptions Index

That is the best result over 18 years.
Transparency International – is a non-governmental international organization, which combats corruption and does research on its level around the world, has published the results of 2017. Following the results, Kazakhstan scored 31 and improved its indicators by 2 scores. It was said by the leading expert of JSC Centre for Military and Strategic Studies, Marat Shibutov, at the Regional Communications Service in Almaty.

Denmark headed the rating with 88 scores. And the situation in Kazakhstan has changed for better. If in 2016 Kazakhstan took 29 scores, then in 2017 it was 31. That is the highest indicator over the last 18 years.

The last year was the best in the interaction of anti-corruption fighters with the public. This indicator is one of the key indicators in terms of investment in Kazakhstan. The rating includes nine indicators, of which Kazakhstan’s six indicators are positive, one remained the same and two indicators have decreased, they are the global interviewing of heads of business companies and foreign investors indicator," Marat Shibutov said.


The three CIS countries showed better results compared to Kazakhstan, they are Georgia (56), Belarus (44) and Armenia (35).

Our goal for the next two years is to catch up and leave behind Armenia. We are at the same level with Azerbaijan and Moldova. But, we left behind Ukraine (30), Kyrgyzstan (29), Russia (29), Uzbekistan (21), Tajikistan (20) and Turkmenistan (19)," the researcher said.
