The National legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan does not correspond both to the international standards and the obligations taken by Kazakhstan.

Almaty. March 31. Kazakhstan Today - The National legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan does not correspond both to the international standards and the obligations taken by Kazakhstan. The Director of the Kazakhstan International Bureau for Human Rights Evgeny Zhovtis informed today at the press conference, the agency reports referring to Soros-Kazakhstan fund press service.

"The National legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan does not correspond both to the international standards and the obligations taken by Kazakhstan. The legislative norms regulating such important political rights and civil freedoms, as the right to freedom of assembly, associations, movement, religion and many others do not correspond to the international standards. Very often all attempts of the activists of the civil society and ordinary citizens to defend their rights lead to conflicts with the representatives of state authorities ended in detentions, investigations and administrative account, E. Zhovtis said.
