Kazakhstan may receive a US$ 34 million grant from Global Fund to fight TB

Given the effectiveness of TB control programs in the country, Kazakhstan is allowed to apply for a regular grant from the Global Fund in order to achieve success in the fight against tuberculosis and to create an exemplary model of TB organizations management.

Almaty. May 16. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan intends to receive a 34 million dollar grant from the Global Fund for the development of TB services, Director of the National Center for Tuberculosis Problems Tleukhan Abildayev has announced today at a meeting of the country coordinating council.

"Today's meeting is discussing the main directions of work with the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. Given the effectiveness of TB control programs in the country, Kazakhstan is allowed to apply for a regular grant from the Global Fund in order to achieve success in the fight against tuberculosis and to create an exemplary model of TB organizations management," Abildayev said, according to the Prime Minister's official website.

This model now provides for certain changes in funding mechanisms in the structure of TB organizations in our country.

He also noted that as part of the reform of the TB prevention system provided it is planned to introduce a hospital offering replacement technology in the treatment of patients with tuberculosis and individual treatment regimens.

There will also be upgraded laboratory services with the introduction of modern methods of bacteriological diagnosis.
