Kazakhstan Olympic Committee relinquished the idea to hold the 2026-Games

Kazakhstan will consider holding of the 2032-Winter Olympic Games.
The National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan relinquished the idea to apply for holding the 2026-Winter Olympic Games, Insidethegames.biz reports.

Being vice president of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, I say that the country will not pretend to hold the 2026-Olympics. Instead, we will consider the possibility to hold the next Games," vice president of the NOC of Kazakhstan Andrei Kryukov said.


Earlier, Almaty applied for holding the 2022-Games. Following the voting among the members of the IOC, Beijing (China) won the right to hold the Olympics by some 4 votes.

Among the possible hosts of the 2026-Olympic Games are Calgary (Canada), Sapporo (Japan) and Erzurum (Turkey).
