Kazakhstan to take part in Earth Hour 2010

Kazakhstan will take part in the action Earth Hour 2010, the agency reports citing the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).

Almaty. February 17. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan will take part in the action Earth Hour 2010, the agency reports citing the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).

"Kazakhstan became the official participant of the WWF global action Earth Hour. The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, supported participation of the Republic in the world action Earth Hour 2010."

According to WWF, the first official participants in Kazakhstan are Astana and Almaty. Other Kazakhstan cities will also join them.

Astana akim, Imangali Tasmagambetov, has already assigned to prepare switching off of illumination of the city objects.

According to WWF, the light in the important objects in the capital will be switched off:, more than 100 objects of capital, including in Bayterek, Akorda, the Supreme court, the Palace of Independence, the square before Kazak eli monument, the Islamic centre Nur-Astana, the entertaining complex Duman and others at the Earth Hour.

"According to the akim of the southern capital - Almaty, Ahmetzhan Esimov assigned to switch off the light on the television towers of Koktobe, city akimat, and other objects of Almaty."
