Kazakhstan's national emblem underwent amendment

The national emblem's new standard uses the word 'QAZAQSTAN'.
September 12, 2018, the Centre of Excellence held a meeting of the Scientific and Technical Commission under the chairmanship of the head of the Technical Regulation and Metrology Committee, Arman Shakkaliyev, involving the author of the Kazakh national emblem, Zhandarbek Malibekov, and the heads of Republican State Enterprise 'KazInSt', press service of the Technical Regulation and Metrology Committee at Kazakhstan's Ministry for Investments and Development reports.

Following the meeting, the participants decided to approve No.1 amendment to 989-2014 standard 'The National Emblem of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Technical specifications'.

So, the national standard was amended regarding the word 'Kazakhstan' on Latin graphics 'QAZAQSTAN' throughout the standard, as well as within ?E color space.

In addition, a reference to the methodological guide that contains a description of the elements and history of the National Emblem and design documentation compiled by the Emblem's author Malibek Zhandarbek is added.

In order to make the amendment, a number of working sessions with the participation of manufacturers and the author of the Emblem were held.

We note the amendment was developed by the Working Group in accordance with the Order of President Nursultan Nazarbayev to switch the Kazakh alphabet from Cyrillic to Latin letters.
