Kyrgyzstan adopted new Constitution

Bishkek. January 15. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kyrgyzstan Kurmanbek Bakiyev signed the new edition of the Constitution of the country adopted by Zhogorku Kenesh (Parliament) on December 30, 2006, the agency reports referring to the president's press service.

It is the second Constitution signed by the President of Kyrgyzstan for the last three months. The previous edition of the Basic law of the country was adopted in November, 2006 under the opposition pressure. The Constitution signed today expands the President's powers.
