Malaysian satellite Measat-1Р has been successful launched from Baikonur, the agency reports citing the Russian Space Department press service.

Almaty. June 22. Kazakhstan Today - Malaysian satellite Measat-1Р has been successful launched from Baikonur, the agency reports citing the Russian Space Department press service.

According to the press service, Zenith-2SB rocket with the Malaysian space vehicle Measat-1R was launched today at 03.50 Astana time from the cosmodrome Baikonur.

The orbital block in the structure of the block DM-SLB and the space vehicle Measat-1R separated in 8 minutes and 30 seconds. The flight is taking place according to the program.

Measat-1Р satellite weighting two tons was made by the American company Orbital Sciences Corporation by request of Malaysian communication service provider Satellite Systems Sdn. Bhd. The satellite will be providing telecommunication service for the users of East Africa, Middle East, Asia and Australia from the geostationary orbit within 15 years.
