Malaysian tourists' inflow to Kazakhstan grew by 81%

Their average solvency is about 920 dollars per person.
Kazakhstan took part in the International Tourist Exhibition PATA Travel Mart 2018, which takes place in Langkawi, press service of Kazakh Tourism JSC reports.

The annual international tourism exhibition PATA Travel Mart is held under the patronage of the Asia-Pacific Tourist Association.

2017 Monako PATA Travel Mart gathered together 460 exponents from 37 world countries. 293 tour operators from 281 organizations attended this event last year. It should be noted Kazakhstan has been participating in the exhibition for several years. Malaysia is a priority market for Kazakhstan, with regular direct flights from Kazakhstan to Malaysia and a visa-free regime for Malaysian citizens up to one month.

According to Kazakh Tourism, these factors had an impact on tourists’ number.

The Statistics Committee data reflect on more than twofold increase in arrivals from Malaysia to Kazakhstan in comparison for 2012-2017. (2012 - 2,179 people, 2015 - 3,566 people, 2016 - 4,354 people, 2017 - 5,245 people).

According to preliminary data, the number of tourists from Malaysia has increased by 81%.

Moreover, the departure of 5 245 people in 2017 to Kazakhstan is 0.02% of the total number of outgoing Malaysian citizens with an average solvency of 920 dollars, in accordance with the Euromonitor statistics.
