Miners of Tentek mine strike demanding increase of salary and improvement of working conditions

Today miners of Tentek mine of Arcelor Mittal Temirtau Company declared strike, demanding improvement of working conditions and increase of their salary. The director of the mine Ivan Sheredekin informed on it, the correspondent of agency transfers.

Karaganda. January 16. Kazakhstan Today - Today miners of Tentek mine of Arcelor Mittal Temirtau Company declared strike, demanding improvement of working conditions and increase of their salary. The director of the mine Ivan Sheredekin informed on it, the correspondent of agency transfers.

"49 miners have not returned from night shift," I. Sheredekin said.

"The miners have made demands: to lower pension age up to 50 years for those who have 10-year experience, to establish payment - minimum 70 000 KZT of the average earning, to establish the scheduled cost price of 1 ton of coal not less $60," he added.

The miners have demanded to reduce load on lava to decrease methane extraction, to have on mine not fewer than 2 working lavas and to provide additional financing of tunnel works.

At present work in the mine proceeds, but the situation remains tense.
