Ministry of Health does not exclude possibility of spread of A (H1N1) influenza

The Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan does not exclude a possibility of spread to Kazakhstan of influenza A H1N1 during autumn-winter period. The chief health officer of Kazakhstan, Anatoly Belonog, informed during the press conference in the Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan on Tuesday, the agency reports.

Astana. May 6. Kazakhstan Today - The Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan does not exclude a possibility of spread to Kazakhstan of influenza A (H1N1) during autumn-winter period. The chief health officer of Kazakhstan, Anatoly Belonog, informed during the press conference in the Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan on Tuesday, the agency reports.

He informed that "British doctors have started preparation for the second, much worse wave of the H1N1 pandemic, which will happen in the autumn of 2009."

As informed earlier, 776 cases of A H1N1 virus infection have been registered in Mexico (according to WHO - 590 cases), 26 people died (according to WHO - 25 people), in the USA - 279 people have been infected (according to WHO - 286), 1 person - died (according to WHO - 1), in Canada - 140 people have been infected (according to WHO - 101), in the Great Britain - 27 people have been infected (according to WHO - 18), in Spain 57 people have been registered with the influenza (according to WHO - 54), in Germany 8 people have been infected (according to WHO - 8), in New Zealand 6 people have been infected (according to WHO - 6).

As informed earlier, the government study group has been created since April, 30th in Kazakhstan on non-admission of spread of A (H1N1) influenza in the territory of the country.

According the US Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO), there is no proof for a role of pigs in the generation of these pandemic viruses, which is transmitted from person to person.
