Ministry of Internal Affairs created public council to control police activity

Astana. May 7. Kazakhstan Today - The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan created public council to realize control over police activity. The Minister of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan Baurzhan Mukhamedzhanov informed on Friday at the press conference after the first council session, the agency reports.

According to the minister, the council members will conduct monitoring of the situation connected with the law-enforcement activity of the state and control over the compliance with the constitutional laws and freedom of citizens.

According to B. Mukhamedzhanov, the council includes 10 members. Among them are the public figure Murat Auezov, the Majilis deputy Yerlan Nigmatulin, the Director of public fund Charter for human rights Zhemis Turmaganbetova, the journalist Gennady Benditsky.
