Mittal Steel Temirtau raises wages since October 1

Karaganda. October 5. Kazakhstan Today - Mittal Steel Temirtau will raise wages since October 1, 2006, oblast akim Nurlan Nigmatulin informed on Wednesday.

"After joint discussions the decision was accepted: since October 1, 2006 the payment to underground workers is to be according to the minimal standard," the akim said. He explained that according to the standard, the underground worker of the fifth category without dependence on his performance plan will receive on average 90 thousand KZT.

The salary of ground workers of coal department will be raised by 20 %. At the same time commission members agreed to resume coal mining from now on.

The commission will be sitting for three more weeks. During this time it should consider other requirements of miners.

Mittal Steel Temirtau promised to invest in development of Shahtinsk 200 million KZT.
