Mittal Steel Temirtau to raise wages by 30 %

Karaganda. October 4. Kazakhstan Today - Mayor office of Karaganda oblast and Mittal Steel Temirtau Company signed the agreement on increase of wages to metallurgists of the enterprise by 20 % since October, 21, 2006, and by 10 % - since February 1, 2007, oblast mayor office press service informed the agency.

According to the press service, oblast mayor returned from Temirtau where he took part in the discussion of wages increase to the metallurgists.

As it was already informed, Temirtau metallurgists demand wages increase by 40 %. On Saturday, September 30, the workers went on the meeting sanctioned by the local authorities. The General Director of Mittal Steel Temirtau Naval Chaudhari declared that this issue cannot be solved because of the problems with production selling. The company General Director was replaced and Chodari Narendra was appointed the General Director of Mittal Steel Temirtau.
