Monument to the first President of Turkey to be constructed in Kazakhstan
Astana. December 14. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev charged to create the monument to the first President of Turkey Mustafa Kemal Ataturk in the Republic, the agency reports referring to the president's press service.
According to the press service, "to strengthen friendship, cultural communication between the people of two countries and perpetuating the name of the first President of Turkey N. Nazarbayev charged the government of Kazakhstan to create the monument of the state and public figure Mustafa Kemal Atatyurk."
"The Presidents supported carrying out in the nearest years the Days of Culture of Kazakhstan in Turkey, and the Days of culture of Turkey in Kazakhstan," the press service informed.
According to the press service, "during the state visit to Kazakhstan of the President of Turkey the programs of long-term economic cooperation between the governments of Kazakhstan and Turkey and the plan of measures on realization of the program for 2008 - 2009 were signed.

Oil spill detected in Caspian Sea
According to space monitoring data, received from Sentinel-1A (02:43 UTC), an oil spill was detected on March 30 in the area of Kashagan field in the Caspian Sea. The spill area is about 7 square kilometers. The spill was drifting to the north of the Caspian Sea," the publication reads.
If these facts are confirmed by Atyrau region’s Ecology Department, unscheduled inspection will be conducted at the North Caspian Operating Company. The results will be reported additionally," the Ecology Committee says.
