About 71.5 million doses of vaccine to protect against the influenza A (H1N1) will be destroyed due to the end of expiration date of the medicines, the agency reports citing RIA RosBusinessConsulting (RBC).

Almaty. April 2. Kazakhstan Today - About 71.5 million doses of vaccine to protect against the influenza A (H1N1) will be destroyed due to the end of expiration date of the medicines, the agency reports citing RIA RosBusinessConsulting (RBC).

"According to the official figures, only from 80 million to 90 million have been successfully used, out of 162 million units of vaccine, while other medicines have remained in warehouses as intensity of threat to the society due to the dangerous virus has decreased. The government ordered in the pharmaceutical companies about 229 million units."

According to physicians, some part of vaccines is valid until the end of June, 2010, while other doses can be also used next year.

In total, about 20 % of adults in the USA and more than third of children has been vaccinated against the influenza A (H1N1). Thus, according to the physicians, the dangerous disease has carried away the lives of about 12 thousand Americans.
