New akim appointed in Karaganda

Karaganda. May 25. Kazakhstan Today – Islam Togaibayev has been appointed to the post of a new akim (mayor) in Karaganda, the agency reports referring to the akim of the oblast press service.

I. Togaybayev was born in 1950 and received higher education in specialty engineer-builder. His work experience began as an engineer in building laboratory of Karagandapromstry. He has work experience in economics and public management. Since April, 2001 I. Togaybayev was deputy akim of Karaganda oblast. Recently he was the first deputy.

I. Togaybayev replaced Karaganda akim Vladimir Chirkov occupying the post within two months. According to the press service, Chirkov was dismissed in connection with transfer to the work in Kazakh government.

As it was informed earlier, V. Chirkov headed Karaganda administration in March and up to this time worked in the Ministry of the Industry and Trade in Astana.
