Nigerian citizen lives in airport of Almaty

A citizen of Nigeria has been living in the airport of Almaty since October, 2008, the agency reports citing the newspaper Vecherny Almaty.

"A 29-year-old Nigerian, Jusuf, has been living in the zone of the international passport control since October. According to the press service of frontier service of Committee of National Security, the citizen of Nigeria has no right to stay in Kazakhstan as the terms of all his documents and his visa have expired. The authorities of our Republic cannot allow him leave the country," the newspaper informs.

According to the newspaper, several months ago Jusuf left Almaty for Beijing, "however, there he found out that at the Almaty airport he was not given the second boarding pass and he had to return to our airport. His visa has already become invalid."

The Embassy of Nigeria located in Moscow has not sent any documents addressed to Jusuf yet. All this time he has been living in the border zone of the airport and the Kazakhstan frontier guards have fed him and provided with warm clothes.
