Novosibirsk scientists made vaccine against HIV

Pavlodar. October 9. Kazakhstan Today - The scientists of the Novosibirsk centre of science Vector made a vaccine against human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). The head physician of the Novosibirsk regional center on preventive measures and struggle against AIDS and infectious diseases Vladimir Orlovsky informed the agency.

According to the head physician of the Novosibirsk AIDS center, there were attempts of creation of a vaccine against HIV-infection in the world, but none of the country managed to reach desirable results. "The American scientists hoped that they will be the first, but all their developments failed one after another," V. Orlovsky noted.

The scientists of the scientific centre Vector are carrying out clinical tests. The time is needed to carefully check all the opportunities of the vaccine and its harmlessness for health of people."

According to the Novosibirsk regional center on preventive measures and struggle against AIDS and infectious diseases, as of September 1 nearly 400 thousand HIV infected people have been registered in Russia, including in the Novosibirsk oblast 2.226 people. According to the United Nations, there are more than 40 million HIV-infected people in the world.
