Shymkent. June 26. Kazakhstan Today - One more HIV infected child died in Shymkent, the regional AIDS center press service informed the agency. "On June 19, a two-year-old boy, the citizen of Shymkent, died in the regional infectious hospital with HIV infection diagnosis revealed in spring of 2007," the press secretary said having added that "the child arrived at hospital in a serious condition." Shymkent. June 26. Kazakhstan Today - One more HIV infected child died in Shymkent, the regional AIDS center press service informed the agency.

"On June 19, a two-year-old boy, the citizen of Shymkent, died in the regional infectious hospital with HIV infection diagnosis revealed in spring of 2007," the press secretary said having added that "the child arrived at hospital in a serious condition."

According to the press service, judicial medical examination established that the child had HIV infection of the third stage, bacterial infection, pneumonia, respiratory insufficiency of the third degree, complication of cardiac deficiency, lungs edema, brain edema, renal-hepatic deficiency and a number of other serious diseases.

As of today, there are 118 HIV positive children (nine died, one has been adopted and left abroad) and 14 HIV positive mothers in the South Kazakhstan.
