Petropavl to Host Qyzyljar Music Fest V Celebrating Yermek Serkebayev's 100th Anniversary
The international Qyzyljar Music Fest V will take place in Petropavl from 5 to 10 July, marking the 100th anniversary of Yermek Serkebayev, the distinguished opera singer and People's Artist of the USSR, the North Kazakhstan Region administration said.

For six days, the city's central square will be transformed into a large open-air concert venue, with Kazakh and international performers taking the stage every evening from 7:00 p.m.

The festival will open on 5 July with an ethnic music concert featuring the Hassak ensemble. On 6 July, audiences will enjoy a contemporary dance programme led by Rufina Kareva, a finalist in the international Red Bull Dance Your Style competition. A DJ battle featuring electronic music and a light show is scheduled for 7 July.

One of the festival's highlights will be the classical music evening on 9 July, featuring Zarina Altynbayeva, Honoured Worker of Kazakhstan, and Italian opera singer Angelo Forte.

The festival will conclude on 10 July with a gala concert headlined by popular Kazakh singer Alem.

According to the organisers, Qyzyljar Music Fest has become one of the signature cultural events of the North Kazakhstan Region, attracting thousands of spectators each year and bringing together a wide range of musical genres, cultures and generations.
