Preparation for launch of the booster rocket Zenith-3SLБ with Malaysian satellite Measat-1R proceeds at Baikonur, the agency reports referring to a source at the cosmodrome.

Baikonur. July 11. Kazakhstan Today - Preparation for launch of the booster rocket Zenith-3SLБ with Malaysian satellite Measat-1R proceeds at Baikonur, the agency reports referring to a source at the cosmodrome.

After telecommunication Malaysian satellite Measat-1R has been delivered to the cosmodrome, foreign experts will start preparation of the space vehicle for launch.

Measat-1R has been made on the base of the platform Star for small geostationary satellites by the American company Orbital Sciences Corporation (OSC) by the order of Malaysian communication operator Measat Satellite Systems and is intended for granting communication services and transfer of TV signal of high accuracy for Malaysia, Indonesia and other countries of Southern Asia.

Experts of the cosmodrome are carrying out scheduled works on preparation of the starting complex on the platform №45 and booster block DM-SLB intended for launch of the satellite to the target orbit.

Launch of the new booster rocket Zenith-3SLБ will be the second from Baikonur. The first launch of Zenith under the program Ground Launch took place on April 28, 2008. Zenith-3SLБ has successfully launched Israeli telecommunication satellite AMOS-3 to geostationary orbit.

Launch of booster rocket Zenith-3SLБ with the space vehicle Measat-1R is planned from the starting complex of platform №45 in the third decade of August.
