Baikonur. September 14. Kazakhstan Today - Preparation for the launch of the satellites of navigating system GLONASS began at Baikonur, the agency reports referring to the press service of the Federal Space Center Baikonur.

According to the press service, the space satellite Glonass-M has been delivered to the air station Anniversary on September 13. The experts of the cosmodrome have unloaded containers with the space vehicle and transported it to the assembly-test body 92А50 for prestarting preparation.

According to the launch schedule, the launch of РН Proton-K with booster block DM and the block of three space vehicles Glonass has been scheduled for October 25, 2007.

Development of Glonass system has for Russia and its partners' strategic value. The Presidents of Russia and Kazakhstan - Vladimir Putin and Nursultan Nazarbayev concluded the agreement on joint participation in Glonass project.

The date of the launch of satellites Glonass by means of booster rocket Proton-K will be defined after the end of the work of the commission investigating the reasons of РН Proton-M crash.
