Preparation for launch of Zenith-3SLB, Amos-3 proceeds at Baikonur

Preparation for launch of the booster rocket Zenith-3SLB with the space vehicle Amos-3 proceeds at Baikonur, the agency reports referring to Roscosmos press service.

Baikonur. March 31. Kazakhstan Today - Preparation for launch of the booster rocket Zenith-3SLB with the space vehicle Amos-3 proceeds at Baikonur, the agency reports referring to Roscosmos press service.

The launch of the space craft Amos-3 by the booster rocket Zenith-3SLB is planned for April 24, 2008.

According to the press service, the booster block DM-SLB was filled up with components of fuel and compressed gases at the filling station of the platform №31.

After refueling the booster block DM-SLB was transported to the assembly testing house of the platform №31 and today the experts of scientific-engineering enterprise Vympel, Rocket Space Corporation Energy and the Federal Space Center Baikonur have started preparation for docking of the booster block to the space vehicle Amos-3.

The experts of the cosmodrome prepare the space vehicle Amos-3 for filling up with the components of fuel at the station of the platform №31.

The forthcoming launch of the booster rocket Zenith-3SLB with the space vehicle Amos-3 will be the first launch from Baikonur and will be carried out within the limits of the new international program Land Launch.

The satellite Amos-3 will replace the space vehicle Amos-1 launched in 1996. Amos-3 will expand cover zone of retransmitters of Qu-range, will provide high-quality communication and broadband data transmission service on the territory of the Near East, Europe, Africa, as well as some areas of the Northern and South America.

The launch of the booster rocket Zenith-3SLB with the space vehicle Amos-3 is planned at the modernized starting complex of the platform №45 on April 24, 2008.
