Preparation of booster rocket Dnepr proceeds at Baikonur
Baikonur. July 25. Kazakhstan Today - Preparation of the booster rocket Dnepr intended for launch of five German satellites RapidEye proceeds at Baikonur, the agency reports referring to the press service of the Federal Space Center Baikonur.
According to press service, the experts of the cosmodrome have been conducting works on preparation for launch of the booster rocket Dnepr delivered to the cosmodrome on July 15.
This week transport-starting container with the rocket has been transported to platform №109.
The booster rocket Dnepr (conversion modification of intercontinental ballistic missile (МБР) РС-20) is intended for launch to the target orbit of five German satellites of remote sounding and monitoring of RapidEye system.
Space vehicles RapidEye have already had training pre-starting preparation in chambers of assembly testing house №40 on the platform №31.
The booster rocket Dnepr with the space rocket RapidEye is planned to be launched in the end of August.

Oil spill detected in Caspian Sea
According to space monitoring data, received from Sentinel-1A (02:43 UTC), an oil spill was detected on March 30 in the area of Kashagan field in the Caspian Sea. The spill area is about 7 square kilometers. The spill was drifting to the north of the Caspian Sea," the publication reads.
If these facts are confirmed by Atyrau region’s Ecology Department, unscheduled inspection will be conducted at the North Caspian Operating Company. The results will be reported additionally," the Ecology Committee says.
